Midnite plugs in TrueLayer's Pay by Bank and calls the withdrawal 'instantly'
Two trade outlets carried the same sentence: 'deposit and withdraw instantly'. The operator's own help centre gives the withdrawal leg of that method up to 72 hours.
On 19 August 2026 Midnite went live in the UK with TrueLayer’s Pay by Bank, an account-to-account flow approved in the player’s banking app, with biometric authorisation and no card number typed. Midnite’s help centre already listed Pay By Bank on 18 June; the named provider is what is new. Two trade outlets carried the same press-release sentence verbatim: players can “deposit and withdraw instantly from their bank account, with no card details to enter”. A third paraphrased the release. Deposit and withdraw. “Instantly.” That is the claim. This is the audit.
The licence first, because this desk checks it. The Gambling Commission’s public register lists Dribble Media Limited at account 42647 with active remote casino, bingo, betting, pool betting and gambling software licences, and midnite.com recorded against it as an active domain. Read on the register, not taken from the footer. The three trade reports we read never say so either way.
Then the clocks. A withdrawal is four of them — request, operator processing, rail transit, bank credit — and an account-to-account payout can clear the transit leg in seconds. That part of the pitch is real; we took the mechanism apart in our review of pay-by-bank as a product. But the rail is the last clock, not the first, and a payments integration does not reach the processing queue or any check standing in front of it. TrueLayer says it is authorised by the FCA under the Payment Services Regulations 2017 and Electronic Money Regulations 2011, firm reference 901096. That covers the pipe. It says nothing about when an operator releases a payment.
The operator publishes the other number. Midnite’s help centre carries a payment-methods table, dated 18 June 2026 and unedited as of this writing, giving Pay By Bank, like Apple Pay, Google Pay and Trustly, a processing time of “Instant (deposits), up to 72h (withdrawals)”. Midnite’s withdrawal-timing page says most are processed within minutes and that the operator aims to process all within 72 hours. Those sentences and “withdraw instantly” describe the same product.
Two details the coverage skipped. The operator’s own Pay by Bank help page, which names TrueLayer, documents deposits only; Midnite’s how-to-withdraw page tells Pay by Bank users to use a web browser, with iOS and Android “coming soon”. Both checked on 3 September. Neither is evidence the withdrawal leg is not live — all three outlets say it is, though from one TrueLayer press release. Both are evidence the published detail is thinner than the marketing sentence.
Nobody was replaced. Midnite’s how-to-withdraw page, updated 24 August 2026, lists Trustly beside Pay by Bank. Treat this as an addition to the stack.
The position does not move: rails carry money, operators release it. “Instantly” is a word about one leg; 72 hours is the published aim for the operator’s leg. A faster exit is also a faster way back in, so set the deposit limit while the withdrawal is still boring. 18+; GambleAware is at begambleaware.org.
